When talking about the fineness of aluminate cement, it is the power within the delicacy. We know that the fineness of cement particles directly determines the size of its specific surface area, thereby affecting the rate of hydration reaction and the development of strength. The nation has strict regulations on the fineness of aluminate cement: the specific surface area must be greater than 300 square meters per kilogram, which is the cornerstone for ensuring the excellent performance of the cement.


The Art of Time: Setting Time for Aluminate Cement


During the application of aluminate cement, setting time is a critical technical indicator. The initial setting time should not be too short to ensure that workers have enough time to complete processes such as mixing, transportation, and forming; and the final setting time should not be too long, so that the cement can harden quickly and generate strength. The initial setting time for aluminate cement should be controlled at no less than 45 minutes, and the final setting time should not exceed 390 minutes, achieving a perfect combination of technology and time.


Stability and Reliability: Volume Stability of Aluminate Cement


Volume stability is one of the important indicators to measure the quality of cement. It reflects the uniformity of volume changes in the cement slurry during setting and hardening. If the volume changes are not uniform, meaning the volume stability is poor, it can easily lead to distortion and cracking, severely affecting the quality of the project and possibly even causing safety accidents. Precautions During the Baking of Aluminate Cement Furnace Lining


During the baking process of aluminate cement furnace lining, to ensure its stability and safety, we need to pay particular attention to the following details:


Cautious Baking in the Initial Stage


In the baking stage from room temperature to 350℃, the furnace lining material is particularly sensitive with a relatively high risk of localized bursting. Therefore, we must especially focus on slow and even baking. If there is still a lot of steam after holding at 350℃, we should act cautiously, slowing the heating speed appropriately to ensure that the moisture inside the lining fully evaporates, avoiding excessive stress.


Meticulous Consideration of Ventilation Conditions


In environments with poor ventilation where water vapor is not easily discharged, the baking effect of the furnace lining will be significantly reduced. We need to appropriately extend the holding time to give the water vapor inside the lining enough time to discharge, ensuring uniform and thorough baking.


Preventing Potential Risks of Heavy Oil Baking


If heavy oil is used for baking, it is necessary to prevent heavy oil from directly splashing onto the surface of the lining. The high temperature and direct action of heavy oil may cause localized rapid heating of the lining, leading to bursting.


Protection from Direct Flame Contact


If traditional fuels such as wood are used for baking, the parts directly exposed to the flame often experience localized rapid temperature rise. To avoid this situation, we need to provide appropriate protection for the contact points with the flame, such as covering with insulating materials, ensuring uniform and safe baking.


Baking Preparation for Newly Cast Aluminate Cement


For newly cast aluminate cement furnace linings, to ensure their strength and stability, baking should not be carried out until at least 3 days have passed. During this period, the cement will gradually harden and achieve a certain strength, providing a solid basis for subsequent baking.


Meticulous Management of the Cooling Process


After baking, the cooling process of aluminate cement furnace linings also requires meticulous management. Forced ventilation or other rapid cooling methods should be avoided to prevent cracks or deformation due to large temperature differences. Instead, natural cooling or gradual temperature reduction should be chosen to ensure the stability and safety of the furnace lining.
